Bringing Art to KAIST: A Museum in a Tech Campus


Invited by the Korean Museum Association (한국박물관협회), Professor Suk delivered a keynote speech at the 2025 ICOM (International Council of Museums) Conference. In her talk, she shared the story of how an art museum was envisioned and established within KAIST—a university traditionally rooted in science and engineering. Aligned with the conference theme, “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities (급변하는 공동체와 박물관의 미래) ,” her message emphasized how AI is unlocking new creative possibilities and empowering a new generation of creators. She also introduced the KAIST Campus Gallery and recent exhibitions, demonstrating how an art museum can be meaningfully integrated into a university setting.
